Mindshifting Mindfulness

Mindshifting Mindfulness for Christians – Thou Shalt Relax

Chapter 1.

Our natural minds tend to lock onto negativity and, so we must perform a deliberate mindshift to change our mental focus from the dark side to the sunny side of life. Transitioning from a sad perspective of lack, to a joyful perspective of abundance, takes a deliberate change of focus. Practicing Mindshifting Mindfulness will help restore your peace of mind.

Positive human emotions that we experience range from, joy, laughter, gratitude, love, fun, happiness; these emotions are empowering and set us free to fully engage in the process of experiencing an abundant life.

If you are living a frustration filled life and you wonder how you can overcome the obstacles and problems that are your day to day reality, it is time to see the problems in a new light. Changing our focus does not eliminate the problems, but it can help reveal the solution.

Everyone has problems, none of those problems are unique. All the problems can be dealt with by using the right approach.

Expand by demand. God/life gives us problems that we must push against to strengthen our resolve while molding our character. Do we see difficulties as problems or opportunities?

A mindshift will change our focus and set us free to see solutions.

New Approach

Instead of allowing a problem to take over our mind and once again being sucked down into the worry habit, we can choose to view the problem as an opportunity for growth. We can learn how to solve the problem and strengthen our problem-solving muscles. This helps us to know that we are capable of surmounting challenges that come along. Each problem we tackle successfully gives us the confidence to know we are strong enough to solve the next one that comes along.

Opportunities are blessings disguised as problems.

To have an extraordinary life we must choose to control our emotions. Refusing to be sucked down into depression and worry, we must mentally choose to take a stand against negative thoughts. The Bible states clearly 365 times not to fear or worry. That is one time for each day of the year. God knows that worry and fear cause anxiety and stress, worry will also have a negative impact on our health and sadly is rooted in lack of trust and fear.

Remember Successes

When we indulge in worry, we are focusing on our lack and not our attributes. It can be helpful to remember times past when we have successfully solved problems. Focusing on our strengths puts our mind in a ‘can do’ attitude. Obviously, we can solve problems and overcome challenges because every single day of our life that is what we have successfully done. We have a history of being over-comers.

Instead of indulging in pointless worry, choose to trust God to help you through your difficulties. That does not mean, we leave everything to God. We do what we can to resolve problems and allow God to bring His supernatural resources into the situation. We invite God into partnership with us, which causes us to thrive in our lives, relationships and businesses.

Some encouraging scriptures to meditate on:

“Do not worry, only trust.”

“Ask and believe and you will receive, do not doubt.”

“Trust in the Lord, with all your mind, with all your heart and with all your soul.”

“Trust God in everything you do.”

“Trust in the Lord and do good;

dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Take delight in the Lord,

and he will give you the desires of your heart.

 Commit your way to the Lord;

trust in him and he will do this:

He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,

your vindication like the noonday sun.” Psalm 37: 3-6

Where we live emotionally controls our experience of life.

  1. Choose to be mindful – focus on your breaths.
  2. Choose to be grateful – focus on your blessings.
  3. Choose to be kind – seek the good in everyone.
  4. Choose to be helpful – do good when you can.
  5. Choose to be truthful – own your truth.
  6. Choose to be joyful – express positive emotions.
  7. Choose to be creative – express your creativity.
  8. Choose to be peaceful – meditate and hold your peace.
  9. Choose to be confident – trust your strengths.
  10. Choose to be loving – speak and act kindly.

Take control of your thoughts by choosing to think positive thoughts, followed by choosing to be engaged in positive actions. You are in control of your thoughts, you can choose to kick out the negative thoughts, you cannot afford to allow negative thoughts and attitudes to grow in your mind.

Remembering negative experiences causes us to re-live them over and over. Notice them and give them no attention. Focus on finding at least one positive attribute of people who have hurt you. This heals you and frees your mind, (mindshift), to make space for good thoughts.

God will give you “Beauty for Ashes”, when God sees your intent is to be open and loving, He will reward you by replacing the negativity with new positive experiences. You just need to make space in your mind and believe that God is changing your destiny from lack to abundance.

To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Isaiah 61:3

Think, speak and act, according to your beliefs of an abundant life and a generous God who is blessing you and your ventures and adventures. God wants to bless you and be your partner in creating your abundant and amazing life.

Firstly, becoming a blessing-giver is necessary. For us to be continually blessed we make the choice to share our blessings with others. God has commanded us to tithe 10% of our abundance with others. Tithing is a way that we share our blessings and by doing so we are proving that we believe God will continue to meet our needs and provide for us. We do not lock all our blessings away where they cannot grow, we help others. We trust God to provide, we bless others with a portion of what God has blessed us with. Everything originates from God and He wants us to share, not horde. He wants us to bless others and in doing so, He blesses us even more.

Visualize Abundance

Choose to believe in abundance before you receive it, visualize abundance, close your eyes and see blessings pouring into your life. Visualizing results before they happen, involves invoking and practicing faith. You must use your faith muscles. To help develop this practice read holy scriptures that speak about the promises of God’s blessings to His children. Place your trust and your faith in a trustworthy, faithful God, who created you to live a blessed successful life.

Choose to Trust

Trust in the veracity, the truth of the scriptures of providence and abundant blessings that God promises to His children. God has already crowned you with favor. God has chosen you. Believe it and receive it. You are chosen. You are blessed.

The blessing of God is already yours, whether you can see it or not, it is there. Thank God for His favor each day. Speak the blessing of God over your life and the lives of your loved ones. Trust in the Word of God, trust in His promises. He is an awesome God and you are His beloved child.

Ask God for healing in your mind especially in your thoughts, ask God to remove your wrong thinking, and ask Him to renew your mind to see clearly as you once did with the openness of a child’s mind.

Your dreams will come to fruition when you grab hold of them. Make the decision to believe God, He does not disappoint. God will bless your faith, He will be pleased at your confidence in His promises.           (End of this sample.)

From the Author:

Hello and Welcome, the above snippet is from the book Mindshifting Mindfulness for Christians, subtitle is Thou Shalt Relax, if you are enjoying this free sample of the book, Chapter 1, please click this link it will take you to Amazon Kindle where you can get a larger sample of the book through the Look Inside feature. This book was created as a tool to help you to re-focus on your goals, dreams and your purpose. Though to be honest I began searching for peace and tranquility when my own life became beyond stressful. I tend to live in my head too much, take on other people’s problems and as a result my own pain is increased.

Firstly I sought medical help, my doctor recommended pills, I don’t take pills they often cause more problems than they solve. I began reaching out beyond myself, talking to a counsellor which helped a bit for a time. Then I thought well maybe I need to get out more and do more, I became a volunteer for everything. This only added to my overwhelm. Walking helped. Being outside in the world, seeing other people living their lives was inspiring. There were still too many thoughts going round in my head. I found myself being pulled into other people’s drama and trying to solve their problems. This was not helpful for me it made things worse.

Learning to detach from the drama that certain types of people feed off was necessary. This brought me to the simple art of meditation, which focuses on the breath. The first thing we do when we are born is to suck in air and the last thing we do when we die is to expel air. In between we do a lot of breathing and the more we learn how to control our breaths the calmer our mind becomes.

This book has helped me go from being anxious all the time, not sleeping, reliving stressful situations over and over in mind to being able to trust,

Every step you take towards becoming fully authentic, and actualized is a step towards your ultimate fulfillment. I believe that you deserve to live your life on the highest possible level. This book is a stepping stone to help you on your way.

Please leave a review of the book and let me know how the book has impacted your life. I read all feedback as I want to be able to truly provide the answers you are seeking through my writing.
